Meet the founders
Helen Cowley – Rhubarb
After building the retail department in one of Australia’s leading advertising agencies, Helen swapped shopfronts to lead Rhubarb&Custard’s retail team. In her time she has helped develop the creative and strategic offering to a number of retail brands including Optus, Ella Baché, Budget Eyewear and P&O.
She was most notably instrumental in leading one of the world’s fastest growing retail brands in ALDI, creating its brand position in Australia from 2002 to 2010. She was also the concept creator to one of the world’s most cutting edge stores, Melbourne’s OPSM Eyehub developing it’s ideas for interactivity and in-store digital integration.
Most recently Helen was featured in Adnews’ 40 under 40 most influential people in the advertising industry for 2012.
Chris James – Custard
Chris is considered to be one of the most awarded and experienced Interactive Creative Directors working in the Australian market. With a career spanning over 17 years, has successfully built and run 3 multi award winning interactive agencies and departments.
In 2008 & 2009 he was ranked the top Interactive Creative Director in Australia by Campaign Brief Magazine and number 2 globally at Cannes09 by the Won Report.
Chris now heads up the digital specialists at Rhubarb&Custard, helping clients create solid integrated digital strategies both
on and offline.
